Have you tested positive for application fatigue_.png

So, it’s Monday morning. You drag yourself out of bed, turn on the kettle and open your laptop.

Maybe today’s the day?

Maybe today you’ll get some traction?

You open your email and there it is, the ‘Update to your recent application’ – you know, that job that really matched your experience. That job where you thought - you’ll definitely get an interview. Surely they’ll call you for this one.

“Thanks for your interest in ‘X’ job, due to the high number of job applicants at this time your application was unsuccessful.”

Another bloody rejection. No reason why. Again.

It’s probably starting to feel like Groundhog Day. At least they sent an update, unlike the other 62 applications you haven’t heard back from…yet.

Day in day out, the same old crap. It’s draining.

Have you tested positive for application fatigue?

Job application fatigue is real. I can feel it when I’m talking with candidates. Great candidates with awesome knowledge and experience and a hunger to work and add value to a team.

Yet they’re doubting themselves.

People are second guessing themselves and losing confidence. Rejection after rejection. Nerves are leading to more anxiety. Great, just what we need more of in 2020.

At redappleit we get back to every candidate with a written update on the outcome of the job you applied for. When 250 – 350 plus candidates apply for each position it’s pretty impossible to give each candidate a personalised written reason as to why you weren’t successful, but if you ring us we’ll be happy to have a chat and give you personalised verbal feedback and offer suggestions or tips that we hope will help your job hunt. You’re not in this alone.

Please don’t lose hope. The technology job market is recovering.

And make sure you take a break from applying for jobs. Turn off the screen and do something that makes you happy. Ring a friend to debrief on what’s been happening, take a walk, play a game, turn up the music really loud and dance in the kitchen if you want to.

Do whatever makes you happy.

Reset, smile, and then go again.
